The Tudor story is one of a quiet younger sibling that grew into a rock star to rival all other pretenders to the throne of ‘coolest watch’. Conceived by Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf in 1926, Tudor was originally launched as an accessible way to own a Rolex quality timepiece at a more affordable price point. The watches were effectively Rolex pieces in many ways, sharing the same cases, bezels, crowns and crystals as their coroneted cousins. But quickly the brand developed its own unique identity that was both daring yet reliable; flamboyant yet sophisticated and the stealthy choice of the knowing watch collector. Now firmly out of the shadow of Rolex, vintage Tudor is now a serous proposition for watch connoisseurs and collectors of timelessly cool wristwatches.
Vintage Manual Wind Tudor Oyster with Rare and Beautiful Waffle Dial. This classic Oyster conveys the true essence of the brand. Timeless and elegant in equal measure, this is a watch that is versatile and wearable for all occasions.
The dial in this Oyster is in all-original and very good condition. The intact lume plots match the in-fill in the hands and the dial surface is still beautifully clean. The model and serial engravings on the caseback are still crisp as are the caseback teeth. The Oyster case is still very strong. Our pictures are an important part of the condition report – please scrutinise them in detail and feel free to ask any questions.

The Tudor Oyster is the genetic heart of the brand’s watches. They first started to appear in 1946 and were housed in 34mm steel Oyster cases.
The name Oyster is inspired by the shellfish that lives its life underwater and Wilsdorf designed a system that would hermitically seal the movement inside the case.
This watch has a rare 'waffle' dial - the texture of which gives the watch real 'wow' factor.
The rivet-link vintage Oyster bracelet is the classic pairing for a vintage Oyster watch.
