BRAND DNA
The Tudor Oyster is the genetic heart of the brand’s watches. They first started to appear in 1946 and were housed in 34mm steel Oyster cases. In 1952, the “Oyster Prince” was introduced. Prince signified the presence of an automatic movement and was Tudor’s equivalent of Rolex’s “Perpetual”.

OYSTER
The name Oyster is inspired by the shellfish that lives its life underwater and Wilsdorf designed a system that would hermetically seal the movement inside the case. This was achieved by two main principals — screws and seals. He developed a winding and setting crown that screwed down against the side of the case, making the traditionally vulnerable stem hole impervious to moisture.

TEXTURED DIAL
This watch has a rare 'square waffle' dial - the texture of which gives the watch real 'wow' factor.

SCREW CROWN
The Rolex screw down crown is a hallmark of the Oyster watch.
