Description

Inspired by Rado's 1962 dive watch of the same name, the Captain Cook 42 mm is thoroughly modernized in terms of aesthetics and performance.

With functional rotating bezel with ceramic bezel insert, box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, and water resistance to 300m, the Captain Cook is toughened against everyday use and scratches while remaining an extremely versatile component of one's wardrobe, courtesy of its cool grey watchface and included multiple straps.

Also noteworthy is its robust self-winding movement with substantial 80 hours of power reserve.

MODEL FEATURES

COOL, URBANE GREY

Beyond merely emulating the dive watch of the ’60s, we reimagined the Captain Cook with an addition of vintage charm – the allure of the faded bezel. Dive watches that are constantly exposed to the sun and seawater naturally transform black bezels into weathered rings, evoking a sort of hallucinatory, ethereal appearance in a ghost-like grey that matches any wardrobe.

HIGH TECH MEETS VINTAGE

While paying homage to its 1962 original, the watch also carries modern-day features that celebrate Rado's foray into material innovation. Case in point, the rotating bezel which utilises the brand’s high-tech ceramic for its insert. It also replaces the original acrylic with a highly appealing and totally scratch-resistant domed sapphire crystal.

THE CASE

The case size in this instance has been enlarged to 42mm, while remaining eminently wearable at a case height of 12.1mm. Water resistant to 300m.

EXTREMELY VERSATILE

Rado x Revolution Captain Cook Automatic 42 is offered in a steel bracelet with Rado EasyClip quick-change feature, as well as leather strap and fabric NATO style strap, in a handsome, hard-wearing leather carrying pouch.
