Following its collaboration with Czapek & Cie., Collective Horology, the California-based watch club founded in 2018 by Asher Rapkin and Gabe Reilly, is back with their eighth limited edition, the Montblanc X Collective Horology 1858 Minerva Monopusher Chronograph, named the ‘BLUE ARROW’.

The genesis of this design can be traced to the fortuitous discovery of a vintage Minerva stopwatch known as the Yacht Timer, offered by the reputable vintage watch dealer Eric Wind. Recognizing the historical significance of Minerva, Collective Horology was inspired to create a sportier wrist-worn interpretation, a tribute to the brand’s legacy as articulated by the founders themselves. Montblanc X Collective Horology 1858 Minerva Monopusher Chronograph P.05 ‘BLUE ARROW’ is based on the Montblanc 1858 Minerva Monopusher chronograph RED ARROW limited edition of 88 pieces that was launched in 2022. The stainless steel case with its distinctive white gold fluted bezel remains unchanged in this limited edition release. However, the introduction of new dial colors elevates the timepiece, infusing it with a subtle yet captivating layer of nuance and brilliance. This thoughtful addition underscores the inherent value of collaborations aimed at discerning collectors, delivering an experience that goes beyond the ordinary. The outcome is a captivating dial boasting a vibrant color scheme that, in a subtle nod, evokes the eye-catching regatta wristwatches of the 1960s and 1970s. This exquisite canvas is crafted in glossy white lacquer, accentuated by yellow registers that offer a delicate yet distinct contrast. Adding to the dial’s dynamic personality are the central chronograph and minute totalizer hands, beautifully thermally blued to set them apart from the black-coated, luminous pencil-style hour and minute hands, as well as the running seconds hand. A vivid sky blue hue graces both the telemeter scale on the outer rim and a snail-shaped tachymeter in the center, bestowing the timepiece with a unique and unmistakable identity. Perched along the dial’s periphery is the namesake “Blue Arrow,” a feature operable bidirectionally through the rotating bezel, adding a touch of functional elegance to this exceptional timepiece. The Montblanc X Collective Horology 1858 Minerva Monopusher Chronograph P.05 ‘BLUE ARROW,’ embraces exclusivity with just 30 examples. Remarkably, despite its rarity and exceptional craftsmanship, it comes with an appealing price tag of just USD 34,500. This pricing stands in stark contrast to analogous offerings in its price bracket that often fall short in delivering the same level of meticulous craft and unique character.
