Introducing the URWERK UR-112 Aggregat
The Low-Down
The latest addition to URWERK’s Special Project collection is yet another feather in URWERK’s cap of radical micro-mechanical creation, an engineering exercise in presenting a different paradigm of telling time. More clearly discerned from its back view, the UR-112 Aggregat is composed of two segments: the body which houses the movement proper, and the head which is a sapphire crystal cylinder containing the triangular prisms that spin and roll to tell the time.
IMHO
URWERK translates its brand of manic mechanics to the y-axis – that’s a watchmaking moment to be celebrated, as the envelope of conceivability is teased yet a little further. It’s something that URWERK has consistently achieved, not insane mechanical ingenuity for its own sake but in the service of a mad idea. The retro sci-fi dress is icing.
