Accutron has developed an innovative new movement utilizing electrostatic motor design principles to power their latest timepieces. This drive system, a culmination of ten years of research and development, incorporates electrodes and human motion to generate and store energy. The electrostatic motor propels the seconds hand, while two smaller electrostatic generators rotate the rotor. Excess energy is stored in an accumulator, providing power for the hour and minute hands. The rotor, prominently displayed on the dial, spins gracefully at a high speed, captivating observers.

Incorporating the electrostatic drive technology, Accutron introduces a quartz watch that eliminates the need for battery changes. The watch features an “Energy Conserving Function” mode, which activates when no motion is detected for more than five minutes, conserving power by halting the seconds hand movement. This mode allows the watch to maintain accurate timekeeping for up to ten days, with the potential to retain power for up to 5 years in a dormant state. For active wearers, the power reserve can extend to a decade or more, offering unrivaled convenience and longevity.

Accutron has introduced the latest additions to the Spaceview 2020 collection with two new styles. These watches boast a polished stainless-steel case, showcasing a green transparent open-work dial with a transparent outer ring. The timepieces also feature white hour and minute hands with Super-LumiNova center, an orange second hand, and domed double box sapphire crystal. They are available with either a matte black or green genuine American alligator strap.

The watch has a considerable wrist presence with 43.5mm in diameter and 15.9mm in thickness with a protective fixed bezel and angular lugs slanting outwards. The crown is engraved with Accutron’s signature tuning fork logo and offers 50m water resistance rating. The luminous hands and dot indexes furnish optimal legibility in the dark.
