Introducing Glashütte Original SeaQ in Reed Green
The Low-Down
The SeaQ is inspired by Glashütte Original’s historical diver’s watch from 1969, manufactured by then state-owned entity VEB Glashütter Uhrenbetriebe (GUB). The Spezimatic Type RP TS 200 was one of the many innovations out of the Glashütte watchmaking industry, and Glashütte Original takes inspiration from the original design, but upgrades the functionality with modern materials.
IMHO
Even though SeaQ Reed Green is another variation of the existing model, Glashütte Original is really showcasing their dial manufacturing skills in the now integrated German dial manufactory of Th. Müller, based in Pforzheim.
The dial is in German is known as Schilfgrün, which translates to reed green. It is a rich green lacquered dial with silver applied numerals, SuperLumiNova inlaid indices and hands, and a matching date aperture at three o’clock. The rotating bezel fitted with green ceramic inlay that continues the color scheme and is scratch resistant for durability.
The SeaQ Reed Green is available with three straps: black rubber with a relief pattern, grey synthetic and a stainless-steel bracelet.
