Introducing the RedBar X Frederique Constant Highlife Collection
The family-owned firm of Frederique Constant released a fresh take on their Highlife collection (which initially debuted in 1999) a few weeks ago, offering an appealing mix of integrated sports style and accessible luxury. The highlight of this lineup is the Perpetual Calendar, fitted with Frederique Constant’s FC-303, an in-house offering which, at under USD 10k, makes the vaunted high complication accessible to more enthusiasts than ever before. The looks-wise these watches are quite compelling too. Neatly sized at 41mm across, and with an integrated bracelet, with polished centre links for that luxurious touch, the complete package has a lot going for it.
So what has RedBar done to twist it their way? Well, the rear offers a RedBar emblazoned clear caseback, which is cool. The fact that buyers in the US can also get to make a $50 donation to a charity of their choice is even cooler, but it’s the dials that really stand out. Matte grey, with deep red highlights. The Automatic gets some pops on the minute track and a bright red seconds hand. The Perpetual Calendar wows with a blood-red moon and stars in a midnight blue night sky.
