Introducing the TAG Heuer Monaco Calibre 11 The Hour Glass Edition
When it was launched in 1969, the Monaco was a watch that broke many norms. It was the first watch to boast an angular, square case and had its chronograph pushers on the right side of the case while the crown was placed on the left.
Of course, 1969 being the same year that the consortium of Breitling, Buren, Hamilton, Heuer and Dubois-Depraz announced the world’s first modular automatic chronograph, the Monaco was one of TAG Heuer’s (then Heuer) first timepieces to contain the history-making, Chronomatic Calibre 11.

The rendition of the Monaco created for The Hour Glass’ 40th anniversary is a 50-piece limited edition in a black PVD case. What really sets the watch off is its cream-colored dial — with an appropriately color matched cream-colored date wheel — against the watch’s black case.
