Not\u00a0only is it a unique complication, it is a stunningly beautiful watch.<\/p>\n<p>This year, Jacob &amp; Co. has taken the Astronomia Gravitational Triple Axis Tourbillon to another level completely by adding a world-premiere astronomical complication.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-41273 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.revolution.watch\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Jacob-Co-Astronomia-SKy_Smaller-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"Jacob &amp; Co. Astronomia Triple Axis Gravitational Tourbillon\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><em>Jacob &amp; Co.\u00a0Astronomia Triple Axis Gravitational Tourbillon<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The new Astronomia Sky introduces a three-dimensional sidereal display,\u00a0a unique day\/night indication, an orbital second hand, the gravitational\u00a0triple axis tourbillon-of course-and a spherical orange sapphire\u00a0moon.<\/p>\n<p>This timepiece\u2019s Celestial Dial is a blued grade 5 titanium dial with 18-karat gold stars and applied, hand-engraved zodiac signs, which makes one full rotation in one sidereal year \u2013the actual time it takes the Earth to\u00a0rotate once around the sun with respect to the fixed stars.<\/p>\n<p>Above this celestial dial is the Oval Sky Indicator, which shows the portion\u00a0of\u00a0the stars visible from the Northern Hemisphere (don\u2019t worry, Jacob\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Co. will make one showing the Southern Hemisphere sky upon demand).\u00a0This indicator makes one full rotation in one sidereal day (23.5640916\u00a0hours).<\/p>\n<p>Visible through the sapphire case openings, the 12 months are displayed on\u00a0the\u00a0side of the sidereal dial. A perpetual calendar hand points out the current\u00a0date.<\/p>\n<p>In the center of the satellite axis, a lacquered hand-engraved titanium globe rotates on itself inside a tinted half-domed sapphire crystal, symbolizing\u00a0night and day. A full rotation of this globe occurs during one 24\u00a0hour day thanks to a differential system.<\/p>\n<p>In perpetual motion are the four satellites, all of which rotate around the dial every 20 minutes. Rotating on one of the satellites is the amazing triple axis\u00a0gravitational tourbillon, which rotates on one axis in 60 seconds; it rotates\u00a0on\u00a0the second axis every five minutes and around the dial every 20\u00a0minutes.<\/p>\n<p>On another satellite is the time (hours and minutes) subdial. Thanks to a clever differential gear system, the time display is always in the correct\u00a0position-in other words, the 12 is always up!<\/p>\n<p>On the third satellite is the Orbital Second Hand, an open-worked titanium wheel with a second hand that rotates in 60 seconds, and it also rotates around the dial every 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>On the fourth and final satellite is the \u201cJacob Cut Red Moon\u201d, a spherical orange\u00a0sapphire with 288 facets. This gem cut, the first of its kind in the modern\u00a0jewelry industry, rotates on its axis every 60 seconds and turns around\u00a0the dial every 20 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Whew!
