The Tudor story is one of a quiet younger sibling that grew into a rock star to rival all other pretenders to the throne of ‘coolest watch’. Conceived by Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf in 1926, Tudor was originally launched as an accessible way to own a Rolex quality timepiece at a more affordable price point. The watches were effectively Rolex pieces in many ways, sharing the same cases, bezels, crowns and crystals as their coroneted cousins. But quickly the brand developed its own unique identity that was both daring yet reliable; flamboyant yet sophisticated and the stealthy choice of the knowing watch collector. Now firmly out of the shadow of Rolex, vintage Tudor is now a serous proposition for watch connoisseurs and collectors of timelessly cool wristwatches.

The Tudor Oyster is the genetic heart of the brand’s watches. They first started to appear in 1946
The name Oyster is inspired by the shellfish that lives its life underwater and Wilsdorf designed a system that would hermitically seal the movement inside the case.
This 'Oversize' Oyster is a rare example and the larger size also gives the watch a more contemporary presence on the wrist
The roulette date wheel is a lovely touch - as is the window around the date aperture.
