1968 Omega Speedmaster Ultraman Ref.145.012-67
$ 80,000
In 1971, in an episode in the Japanese superhero series, The Return of Ultraman, there was a close up of a peculiar Speedmaster with a very prominent orange, central chrono hand. How this timepiece came to be on the radar among Omega's rabid collectors was that exact feature, so rarely seen among the very few caliber-321 watches, was that only 50-odd Ultraman watches are known to exist.

Against a black dial and aged lume spots, the central bright orange chronograph hand was the unique to this particular reference and was christened the nickname 'Ultraman'.

'DON' BEZEL
The DON or 'Dot Over Ninety' bezel referenees to the dot with the 90 marking on the tachymeter bezel being above the number. This is period correct for this watch.

LATER REVIVAL
Fratello Watches worked with Omega to launch the Speedy Tuesday 2, which was hugley inspired by the original Ultraman watch. The sub-dial at nine o’clock even features a ‘hidden’ luminous Ultraman beta-capsule!.

MOVING LEGEND
It is powered by the legendary caliber 321, the Lemania movement that was the base of the 2130. The column wheel activated chronograph movement is one of the most reliable and beautiful movement to ever be conceived.
