The origins of the Cartier Pasha starts with a rumor that the watch was originally designed by Cartier for the Pasha of Marrakesh in 1933 to keep up with his active lifestyle. This lead to a watch that was not only water resistant enough for daily swims but also elegant enough for royal duties. The official story sees the modern Carter Pasha debuting in 1985 to fill a gap in the maison's watch lineup. Since its introduction, the Pasha has been released in many different variations and was the subject of a relaunch by Cartier in 2020.
